Joy MacGregor, Photographer
|
Hello, my name is Joy MacGregor and I would like to introduce myself. I
have always been interested in photography even as a child, growing up
in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn and Elizabeth, New Jersey. I
have been living on the Coast of Mendocino County for 34 years in the
small town of Fort Bragg, California.
MacGregors Place is a small cottage business located under the redwoods
with an ocean view. I am very fortunate to live in this environment. I
really discovered the world of photography when I had a life changing
illness a number of years ago. It was on my daily walks that I would
take the camera my son, Dan, gave me and started taking photographs on a
regular basis. At the same time I was also beginning to understand the
Chinese have another word for Crisis and that is Opportunity. And also
I have been blest to be able to Love the Life that I Live and Live the
Life that I Love with a little help from all my friends.
I would like to thank my Mother for instilling in me the love of the
arts and Eleanor Campbell of Fort Bragg, California who is my mentor on aging
and living life. One day on a walk with Eleanor she shared, "Talent
isn't talent unless it's shared". After that day my life has never
been the same. I began to produce photographic greetings cards, then
began to frame and mount some photographs, had a few shows, opened a few
accounts, sold at a few fairs and now have added more services and
products to my business.
